Grand Oaks High School is the sixth high school within Conroe Independent School District and is located in Montgomery County by Grand Parkway and Riley Fuzzel Road. The new school was a part of Conroe ISD’s 2015 bond referendum to meet the demands of their growing population.
The approximately 530,000 square foot building has the capacity for 3,000 students. The campus consists of a 3-story classroom wing, auditorium, band/orchestra/choir halls, library, cafetorium, kitchen, CTE labs, three gymnasiums, and athletics locker rooms. Additional athletics facilities for football, baseball, softball, and tennis are also on the site.
The HVAC system consists of energy-efficient central chiller and boiler plants. Campus lighting utilizes LED fixtures with occupancy space sensors as well as daylighting controls to conserve energy.
Security & Technology Infrastructure includes structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, network electronics, IP phone system, classroom integrated audio-visual system, distributed antenna system for emergency, and first responder radio system.
The project was completed in August 2018 with PBK Architects and Durotech General Contractors. The DBR team is proud to have delivered a quality design that enhances the community and rewards students and staff alike.
